ACMC Vantage Boar Studs - raising standards of excellence and independently audited
The ACMC Vantage Boar Stud has been developed in order to ensure the highest bio-security, semen quality and customer service that would only be expected by the discerning pig producer. Our stud operators have amassed many years of experience in stud control and day-to-day management. Boar semen from the Vantage Boar Stud is used on our own ACMC commercial demonstration farm.
Bio-security - Prior to new boars entering the stud's isolation premises they have been produced and selected only from ACMC Genetic Nucleus farms. Whilst in isolation they under go the most rigorous health checks laid down by ACMC and EU Boar AI stud protocols, making the Vantage Boar Stud EU Approved. Our stud and the boars within are inspected weekly by independent veterinary surgeons. Added to this our boar stud is independently audited for sound protocols to ensure product control and quality. These regular health protocols are in being to protect the end-user.
Worldwide AI – Semen is packaged and dispatched to many different countries worldwide as fresh semen. Using special thermo packaging and extender diluents ACMC boar semen will both travel safely and live for several days after arrival for farm use. So whether you are a customer within the UK or in another country ACMC product quality will ensure good results.
Semen quality - Good stockmanship and handling encourages the boars to produce viable and healthy semen, which is essential to obtain optimum conception and litter size. Our laboratory has its own fully controlled environment focusing on hygiene, temperature control and working efficiency. All this means that this ACMC product arrives at our customers' farms in the best condition possible.
Orders and Delivery - We have incorporated a simple no fuss ordering system. This allows the time required for semen processing which ensures orders are received ready for use leaving the maximum shelf life.

Our History, Your Future
Established in 1990, ACMC is a family-owned pig-breeding company. Since the early 1990’s, ACMC has successfully established advanced research programmes that deliver profitable breeding stock to discerning commercial pig producers.
Vantage Sire and Dam Line Development
ACMC tests "on farm" thousands of sire and dam line boars each year, measuring individual feed intake, speed of growth and muscle and fat depths to ensure that the most advanced product is available to our customers.
ACMC's applied scientific development through quantitative genetics using phenotypic test data and gene marker selection has produced an advanced range of terminal meat "Vantage" sire lines and the "Volante" dam line. Selection has focused on lean tissue food conversation, lean tissue growth rate and muscle depth. Meat quality traits are also included in our selection procedures. All of this individual animal data is processed through the ACMC "Gene Evaluation Programme" (GEP) to create Estimated Breeding Values (EBV) for each boar.
Notwithstanding the individual boar's performance the boars are then selected for physical uniformity, locomotion, libido and semen quality before embarking on the working productive life.
Individual Assessment Ensures Genetic Progress
Thousands of animals are accurately monitored to measure their individual feed in take every year.
Measuing individual feed intake is still the most accurate method for identifying individuals that have the best lean tissue growth and food efficiency.
