To achieve this, we have invested in many millions of pounds (£’s, GBP) providing advanced facilities and specialist technical personnel to ensure the maximum genetic progress is made. ACMC is not a life science company, but it is an applied pig genetic development company, which means we use tried and tested and socially
acceptable
methods to identify accurately the commercially superior animals for future breeding. That’s how improvement is made.
Our on-farm performance testing, combined with DNA marker
selection, is
implemented by using the latest quantitative and molecular techniques. These applied techniques ensure the company's superiority in pig breeding stock genetics.
We have developed four outstanding terminal meat sire lines and a commercial parent female that is second to none. This has been achieved by applied practical science identifying the superior animals for future breeding.
Vantage boars - a choice of four different breed of Vantage terminal meat sire line boars are available and used by ourselves. They are sturdy, highly active boars providing sire lines tailored for efficient feed conversion and deposition of excellent value quality lean tissue.
Volante LW Dam Line breed - a white dam line derived from individually selected and proven pigs.
Meidam Super Prolific Dam Line breed - a dam line with the world-famous, highly prolific and maternal genes of the Chinese Meishan, incorporated in a quality carcase. ACMC is the most successful breeding company to have incorporated Meishan genes into a commercially available hybrid ~ the AC1.
AC1 Hybrid Parent female - a genetically advanced, efficient and versatile gilt capable of high production levels, for use as a commercial mother
