Product Evaluation

Our Commercial Product Evaluation farm at Fox Covert enables us to confirm our genetic development programme under commercial conditions. We are constantly monitoring physical and phenotypic performance of the ACMC parent Vantage boars and AC1 gilt. Evaluation focuses on the effects of hybrid vigour resulting from the different terminal meat Vantage boars when used on the AC1 parent female and the progeny produced.

The AC1 female is monitored for all those reproductive and maternal traits from conception to numbers born, rearing ability and longevity. The growing crossbred pigs are evaluated for growth, meat quality and quantity.

Carcase Quality

ACMC’s meticulous on-farm testing and meat quality work, gathering information for individual carcase traits for both our sire and dam lines, reaps the benefits with the slaughter processor. Lean tissue food conversion, lean tissue growth rates, leanness and meat quality are all areas that ACMC focuses on in the testing regimens.

Whatever the finished pig contract is, ACMC genetics will ensure optimum performance on any carcase specification.
